Smith Brothers Home Receives BIA-Hawaii Award
Wow! What an honor! BIA-Hawaii recently named an extraordinary home constructed by the Smith Brother’s team as the “Overall Grand Award Winner – New Residential!” We can’t take all the credit though – not by a long shot – as this project, entitled Hale Pualani, was a deeply collaborative effort executed by team of extremely talented individuals we’ve been so fortunate (and grateful) to work with.
Our general contracting team worked on this project in conjunction with accomplished architect, Jeffrey Long of AIA Principal, and the skilled landscapers of Paradise by Design Landscaping, Inc., to make the vision into a reality. And what a reality it is! The photographic talents of Uhl Studios Hawaii captured this work in gorgeous visual detail.
While we could paraphrase, the project statement delivered directly from BIA-Hawaii below truly offers an accurate and perfect description of the home:
“This Maunalua Bay home reflects a romantic fusion of Mediterranean architecture with the Hawaiian lifestyle. The stucco exterior, wrought iron balcony railings, colonnade of stone arches & low-pitched two-piece rustic, Spanish clay tile roof, carries through to the elegant interior. The double-story Grand Hall features faux painted coffered ceilings, polished Italian marble flooring and high stone arched openings that lead to the stone colonnaded patio. This 8,400 square foot home incorporates the European and Mediterranean furnishings and art of the owners with elegant finishes of custom plastered and hand painted ceilings, locally hand-forged iron scrollwork, gilded metal accents and custom silk wall and window treatments.”
